Meet the Doctor
Meet Dr. Robert Rodrigues
Precision. Artistry. Integrity.
“The most successful aesthetic result is one that enhances your natural beauty while still allowing you to look like yourself.”
— Dr. Robert Rodrigues
Dr. Robert Rodrigues approaches plastic surgery as both a science and an art. His philosophy is simple: the most beautiful results are those that respect natural shape, proportion, and harmony. Rather than dramatic or artificial changes, his goal is to help patients achieve refined, balanced improvements that feel authentic and timeless.
At Utah Aesthetic Surgery, every recommendation is guided by one principle—what is truly best for the patient.
Early Life: The Foundation of Art and Integrity
Dr. Rodrigues was raised in the mountains of Montana as the oldest of five children. From a young age, his family instilled in him the values of honesty, integrity, and helping others in need—principles that continue to guide his practice today.
He also discovered an early passion for the arts. Dr. Rodrigues spent much of his childhood drawing, painting, sculpting, and working with metal. His artistic ability was recognized at a young age when he submitted a piece of artwork to an international competition and was awarded a Silver Medal in Japan. His passion for art continued throughout high school and college and would ultimately influence the direction of his career.
At the same time, he was fascinated by the natural world and drawn to the sciences, particularly physics, chemistry, and biology. The combination of science and artistry naturally led him to the field of plastic surgery—one of the few medical specialties where technical precision and artistic understanding work together.
A Foundation in Reconstructive Surgery
Early in his career, Dr. Rodrigues focused extensively on reconstructive plastic surgery, performing complex procedures including breast reconstruction, intricate wound reconstruction, and advanced hand and wrist surgery.
A respected speaker once noted at a major plastic surgery conference that to become an exceptional aesthetic surgeon, a surgeon must first become an excellent reconstructive surgeon. Reconstructive procedures often involve significantly greater surgical complexity and require a deep understanding of anatomy, tissue healing, and surgical precision.
Today, there is a growing trend for some younger plastic surgeons to enter directly into elective cosmetic surgery practice. Dr. Rodrigues believes that the experience gained through reconstructive surgery provides a level of surgical judgment, technical skill, and problem-solving ability that is difficult to obtain otherwise.
This background becomes particularly important in revision cosmetic surgery, where prior procedures may have altered anatomy or created challenges that require a reconstructive perspective to restore balance and natural form.
The extensive reconstructive experience Dr. Rodrigues gained early in his career continues to influence his aesthetic work today, allowing him to approach each procedure with a deeper understanding of anatomy, precision, and long-term outcomes.
The Philosophy Behind Utah Aesthetic Surgery
Dr. Rodrigues chose the name Utah Aesthetic Surgery because the word aesthetic represents far more than appearance alone.
Aesthetic surgery reflects an understanding of facial and body harmony—the balance of shape, proportion, and natural curves that make the human form visually appealing. Rather than simply altering appearance, Dr. Rodrigues focuses on sculpting results that integrate naturally with each patient’s unique anatomy.
The goal is not to create trends or exaggerated features, but to achieve natural, balanced results that remain beautiful over time.
Honest Guidance and Patient Safety
Patients often appreciate Dr. Rodrigues’ straightforward and thoughtful consultations. His role is not to sell procedures, but to provide honest guidance about the options that may best help a patient achieve their goals.
In some cases, surgery may not be the best solution. When appropriate, he may recommend non-surgical treatments—or even advise against intervention altogether. Above all, patient safety and long-term well-being re
main his highest priorities.
A Long-Term Relationship with Patients
Dr. Rodrigues believes that aesthetic medicine should not be a one-time transaction. Instead, he strives to build lasting relationships with his patients, guiding them through thoughtful decisions about their appearance and well-being over time.
By combining precision, artistry, and integrity, Dr. Rodrigues is committed to helping patients feel confident in results that look natural, balanced, and uniquely their own.
